Even though this event is after school, unfortunately no spectators will be allowed inside the building for the event.
Teams must arrive by 2.45pm to avoid getting stuck in traffic on the approach to Barnwell school at pick up time please. If parents are dropping off, please ensure your member of staff is onsite at Barnwell Upper School to meet them as the children will not be allowed inside the sports centre until their school staff have arrived. We need to start promptly at 3pm to get through all the games so arrival by 2.45pm is essential.
After the event, the children will systematically be dismissed by their teacher at the door into the care of their parents. Please ensure your parents are aware to wait patiently outside to avoid any issues on the day.
ALL ATTENDING STAFF WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR A FACE COVERING AT ALL TIMES PLEASE AND TO SANITISE HANDS ON ENTRY INTO THE BUILDING AND ON EXIT. With the current guidance this week, we are taking no chances and our priority is to keep everyone safe and minimise any risks. Match officials will be standing away from staff to ensure they can be heard by the children and in a safe zone.
Please bring your own first aid kit for your team. SSFT will only administer first aid if it is absolutely necessary.
Teams must be made up of Year 5/6 boys and girls with a maximum of 6 players, 4 play in any one game with a minimum of 2 females on the court at the start of that game. We would suggest bringing 3 boys and 3 girls to enable teams to keep strictly to the ratios. 2 players will be subs for each game and can be subbed in for each new game if you wish.
There is no County continuation for this event so we are adapting the ‘out’ rule slightly. If a player is struck by a ball above the shoulders (head area) at any time, they will not be out. A player will be out if they are struck by the ball below head height at any time.
Please read through the rules for the Primary event section in the attached document and be aware of the above amendment.
