This year, the Stevenage Sporting Futures Team will be offering the Action Mat programme to schools. The Action Mats programme can be a 1 week or a 5-week programme and allow children to experience all of the activities in a socially distanced way. The 1-week programme gives the children to experience all the activities that the mats have to offer!

In the 5-week programme we focus on the core skills that children need to learn by the end of KS1. Lessons focus on throwing, jumping, catching, balancing in a creative and exciting way! At the end of the project children get the opportunity to complete activities on all the mats.

Our 5 sessions are: 

1) Telling a story going to school through mats to do with movement!

2) Completing a circuit with mats to do with jumping!

3) Going through the jungle using balancing mats

4) Completing a circuit using throwing and catching mats

5) Trying all the mats!
