This academic year, Stevenage Sporting Futures have teamed up with Fit Kidz CIC to offer the Fit Kidz Go Program to all partner schools. This 4-week program encourages children to get active and set themselves individual challenges. The Fit Kidz Go Program will consist of five weekly 1-hour lessons where the children will learn to use various pieces of functional fitness equipment and the different exercises they can do with the equipment, a number of bodyweight exercises from a set of exercise cards, and the muscle groups activated throughout all exercises. They will get to work individually and in small groups.
In the final week 4 session, parents will have the opportunity to attend giving children the chance to become the teachers and show a parent or friend what they have learnt previously during the program. They will also earn their certificate on completion of the program and in achieving their goal.
BRAND NEW for the 2021-2022 academic year is the Fit Kidz Row sessions, available to Year 6 students. During this single session of rowing, Year 6 students will learn about rower set up and adjustment, how to understand the units and programmes on the machine and how to show the correct technique and rowing stroke. Please note this is taking place during specific weeks across the year:
