YEAR 4 MIXED TRI GOLF (VIRTUAL WITH A FACE TO FACE FINAL)

The Year 4 Tri Golf competition will have a blended approach, starting with 3 virtual stations in your schools and being finalised with a 3 team face to face competition if time and current situation allows.

The competition will begin as a Virtual event which will be delivered by yourselves in your own school and at this stage there will be 3 Tri Golf stations for the children to take part in (see activity cards):

• Drive for Show, putt for dough (Station 3 on the cards)
• Grand National (Station 5 on the cards)
• Zone Ball (Station 7 on the cards)

It is up to you as a school how you organise your Year 4 children into mixed teams of 10 but there must be 5 Girls and 5 Boys in each team. You could run this as an Intra school event for all of your Year 4 pupils if you wish and enter your top team for the SSFT competition (ensuring that your Inter school team entry consists of 5 Boys and 5 Girls scores please).

The stations of activity will need to be explained to the children and must be accurately set up and measured out correctly (using the Tri Golf clubs as measuring tools as referred to on each card).

To ensure fairness and consistency the rules of play on the cards must be strictly adhered to please and timing is crucial with only 5 minutes scoring time per team, per activity please. We do have a rough idea of the level of scoring that is achievable!

A 2 minute period of practice time is allowed before the timed session of 5 minutes. Record the scores in tally form as you go along and then total up each activity at the end of the 5 minutes.

Please ensure you enter your school on this competitions page so that we are aware of who is taking part.

Once all 3 activities are complete, please enter and submit all of the data required on the score card along with the participation data. We require the participation data of all the children who took part and not just the top team please.

For the virtual event in your own school, we do not require the scores for ‘Skills for life’. This will be included for the Final only and judged by SSFT for the top 3 teams.

Scores will be collated and the top 3 teams will be contacted to meet face to face for a Tri Golf Final as long as all 3 schools are happy to do so.

The final is planned to take place after school on Thursday 1^st July (venue tbc) and will determine the overall top 3 placings for medals.
