YEAR 3 & 4 GIRLS CHANGE FOR LIFE ‘TEAMUP FESTIVAL’

This is a development festival aimed at girls in Year 3 and 4 who don’t normally participate in sport or who would benefit from participating in a non competitive festival of sport and physical activity. Teams of 10 girls can attend.

This festival will be set up in stations of activities and the sports we will be delivering are Netball, Cricket and Hockey.

Between 2017 and 2019 England will be host to three consecutive women’s World Cups.

• ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 – England beat India to win the World Cup!
• Vitality Hockey Women’s World Cup – 21 July – 5 August 2018
• Netball World Cup – 12-21 July 2019
  The England and Wales Cricket Boards (ECB), England Hockey and England Netball have launched TeamUp, a three year campaign to maximise the legacy of the World Cups and build a broader fan base for women’s team sports.
The Stevenage Sporting Futures team have added this event to the sporting calendar, and the girls will experience taster sessions, games and activities in the 3 sports delivered by SSFT and local clubs. This will hopefully build up their confidence and enjoyment, leading to a positive mindset towards sport and physical activity.
