This year’s event will be a virtual competition run in each individual school (School Games Level 1) with the results being sent through to SSFT. This will enable schools to enter as many competitors as they wish in Years 3 and 4, and can be recorded as A, B, C, D etc teams on your school games mark info. Speed Stacking has been recognised on the dashboard at last!
We will need the best time for your top team of 8 (4 Boys and 4 Girls) in the 3,6,3 Relay. If your team is in the top 6 across the town, they will be invited to attend the Speed Stacking Finals on Thursday 25th January for the Level 2 Competition. They will then compete against the other top teams from all the entries to find our Stevenage Champions.
The overall winners will represent Stevenage at the Herts School Games Level 3 County Final.
Complete honesty with results is imperative please as this may affect performances when teams comes together for the final.
Guideline Information on how to run your event will be sent to all schools who register to take part.
It is up to each individual school how they wish to run their event (in a club, during PE lessons etc) and it is entirely possible to mix the team of 8 from children in all the Year 3 and 4 classes to select the fastest in your school. So for example your fastest team could look like this:
BOY 1: YEAR 4, BLUE CLASS BOY 2: YEAR 4, GREEN CLASS BOY 3: YEAR 3, PURPLE CLASS BOY 4: YEAR 3, ORANGE CLASS GIRL 1: YEAR 4, GREEN CLASS GIRL 2: YEAR 4, BLUE CLASS GIRL 3: YEAR 4, GREEN CLASS GIRL 4: YEAR 3, ORANGE CLASS
It is advisable to have plenty of practice before timing commences and Speed Stacking cups and a mat and timer are essential.
