HERTS SCHOOL GAMES GOES VIRTUAL!
Primary
The ‘Virtual’ Hertfordshire School Games continues this week with our next events – Cricket and Tennis. Launching as part of National School Sports Week, these activities will have a specific year group focus. Year 3&4 will be challenged with our ‘Racket Tap’ Tennis activity.
Racket Tap will encourage pupils to see how long they are able to keep a tennis ball/ball of socks in the air, hitting from a racket or equivalent. Pupils will need to count how many times they are able to hit in 2 minutes and submit this as their result.
Pupils can complete the activities either at home or school, record their scores and send them back to you as the PE lead ( you can collate these on the relevant school scorecard- see attached ). While only 3&4 results for Tennis will be entered into the Virtual competition, other years can still take part as a personal challenge or intra school activity.
From here you simply work out the Top 4 scores in each of Year 3 and Year 4 to make your team of 8. These can be submitted using the relevant attached form ( form to send to SGO) email SSFT@stevenagesportingfutures.co.uk. Deadline for your school results is FRIDAY 3rd JULY – the date which would have been our Herts School Games Finals Day.
We will be posting the challenge on our Herts school Games Twitter page, so please feel free to share this on your school’s social media account! We will then work these out to find our overall local winner and they will then go on to a virtual ‘County Final’ to find the overall winning school.
