KS1 Balance Festival

This event is for a team of 6 children, 3 Boys and 3 Girls in KS1. It is a Personal challenge participation only event and not a competition for children in KS1. We have specified Gifted and Talented but you are free to bring the children who would most benefit from the experience in a relaxed, yet competitive atmosphere.

This is a simplified version of Sportshall Athletics and everyone will receive a participation certificate.

The children will take part in 6 Field events (Standing Long Jump, Stork Stand, Speed Bounce, agility run, chest push and Foam Javelin) and their scores will be recorded on a score sheet. This will be given to the teachers to take back to school. The idea is to continue to practice the skills and then revisit the activities in school as part of a Club or PE lesson to try and improve their scores in each event. It can also be used as a part of a whole class lesson or cub to encourage more students to take part.

After a short break, the children will then experience some track races: Girls Obstacle, Boys Obstacle and a mixed sprint Relay.

All children must wear PE kit and suitable footwear for running/jumping please.

Please also bring a first aid kit and drinks.
